SAHILVERSE ↗ AN EMOTIONAL WEATHER OBSERVATORY

CASE FILE 003 / THE HUMAN CONDITION

SUNSHINE & RAIN

Two skies. One human being.

Some days we carry warmth. Some days we carry weather. Most days, if we're paying attention, we carry a little of both.

You can feel grateful and overwhelmed in the same afternoon.

01 / THE FALSE CHOICE

WHO SAID YOU HAD TO PICK ONE?

We often describe feelings as if they are mutually exclusive: happy or sad, calm or angry, hopeful or afraid. But ordinary experience is rarely so tidy.

You can celebrate a new beginning while grieving what ended. You can love someone and still need distance. You can be proud of your progress and disappointed by the pace.

COMPLEXITY IS NOT CONTRADICTION.

Mixed emotions do not automatically mean confusion. Sometimes they mean that more than one thing matters.

02 / THE WEATHER MIXER

HOW MUCH OF EACH SKY?

Move the dial. There is no ideal setting and no score. This is a metaphor, not a psychological assessment.

MORE RAIN MORE SUN
Both skies are visible. You don't have to explain the combination.

04 / THE SCIENCE, WITH HUMILITY

THE MIND IS NOT A WEATHER APP.

Researchers use the term mixed emotions to describe experiences involving positive and negative feelings together. Studies suggest that people can experience emotional blends rather than only switching between opposites.

Psychological flexibility is a related but distinct idea: being able to respond to experiences in ways that fit the situation and one's values, rather than following every feeling automatically.

These ideas do not mean that all distress is beneficial, or that someone should tolerate harmful circumstances. Context matters. This installation is creative education, not diagnosis or treatment.

05 / THE FORECAST CONTINUES

YOU ARE ALLOWED
TO BE MORE THAN
ONE KIND OF WEATHER.

The sunshine does not invalidate the rain. The rain does not erase the sunshine.

You are not required to become a cloudless sky.
